STOP ASKING ME IF I’M PREGNANT YET.
STOP ASKING ME IF WE’RE PREGNANT. STOP TELLING ME STORIES ABOUT YOUR FRIENDS/FAMILY/COUSIN/DOG/CHICKEN/ROOTABEGA PIE THAT GOT PREGNANT AFTER THEY ADOPTED. I DON’T CARE. I DON’T WANT TO GET PREGNANT. I WANT TO BE A MOM TO MY SON JOSHUA.
STATISTICALLY, WE WILL NOT GET PREGNANT. WE ARE HAVING LESS SEX THAN BEFORE BECAUSE WE ARE DOG TIRED FROM WORKING AND TAKING CARE OF A BABY. WE HAVE NOT BEEN ON BIRTH CONTROL FOR 5 1/2 YEARS. I DON’T THINK IT’S REASONABLE TO ASSUME THAT WE’RE GOING TO GET PREGNANT, SO LEAVE ME ALONE & QUIT BEING IGNORANT.

Hi Jessie,
Some people just don’t understand and some just say dumb things. I have several friends who are complaining about their baby weight/fat. They are hilarious stories and I love these people dearly. However, I gained 20 pounds this year due to hormones, medication, and other female related issues. I don’t have any cute reason to show for it.

How annoying. I wish I knew an awesome ‘cut low’ (wow, that really dates me) for that situation. I’ll try and think of one.
You just ENJOY your precious miracle baby and know that we are absolutely thrilled for you!
Maybe it would be fun to just flip them off or “moon” them - It might get a reaction and I am sure it would make you laugh!
Just don’t tell anyone that your “pastor’s wife friend” told you to do it! Or better yet, do tell them and that will really have them baffled!

You know I’ve never been in your situation, but I will say that people say a lot of DUMB things to us too. You know what I’ve learned? They are said out of ignorance to our situations. Truly, they are clueless and so they relate some story they know about “someone like you” as a way of relating. I guess I’m just learning that their ignorance is just another way for us to extend grace. I know, it should be the other way around, but in this upside down world, it’s not.
Anyway, praying you’ll find a way to respond to their ignorance in truth and love.
