Good News/Bad News

Talked to our social worker on Thursday. We were not picked by the two birth families (one baby was born on 12.26.07 and one was due 02.04.08) However, our social worker told us that she will let a birthmom in Nebraska know about us. We’ll see!

On the home front, everything is done. We didn’t have our realtor do photos on Friday, but he should take them sometime this week and get it back up on the market. We just have some cleaning to do and a little rearranging but that is it.

Found another attorney to help us with our mom’s estate stuff, so that was a good feeling to finally get some help on that. Hopefully, that will be resolved within the next couple of weeks. Today is just a laid back day, working on laundry and the cross stitch for my nephew. He hasn’t been born yet but should be anytime!

It will be fun being an aunt I think. Hubby was in Target a couple weeks ago and he was trying to convince me to buy our  nephew  a Star Wars Lego Set that is meant for an 8-10 year old. I advised Hubby that his nephew will not be able to play with a Star Wars lego set right out of the womb. Hubby said “well, I will give a lot of supervision!” Well, I’m sure.

  1. I know the Lord has the perfect child chosen for you and I just can’t wait to see who that is. We are praying for your adoption process every night.

I didn’t know you were going to be an aunt!!! How exciting. I’ve always wanted to be an aunt, but being an only child myself and with Jacob’s brother not likely to ever settle down, it may be an unlikely thing. As for the hubby and the Lego set - I had to LOL at that one because I think one of the reason Jacob is really loving the age Elijah is at is because of Legos. The two of them could build for HOURS. Molly enjoys it too, but more so to play with the mini-figs. Hope you all enjoy all the stages with that nephew. Is the family nearby?

  3. I am snowed in today and was researching a local adoption agency when I came across your Blog. I think we live in the same town. Ironically, my brother and his girlfriend are expecting a baby boy any day too.

I want to wish you Godspeed on your journey. We are on a similar adventure that seems to be taking forever. Thank you for having the courage to write about your feelings. Your strength gives others hope and support. I read just a few of your postings and it felt like I was looking in a mirror. Your Blog about sometimes being a monster hit a home run with me, as did your posts in Waiting.

I will pray for strength and faith for you and your husband. God has a plan!
