Stephen Colbert…..he is funny….he gave a Knox College commencement address….and now, he has an ICE CREAM FLAVOR. What can this man not do?

On the home front, the kitchen is steam cleaned and ready for spackling and painting. My willpower to do anything on the house is fading!

I have skipped a lot of baby showers since dealing with the infertility junk. I am attending my first baby shower in a couple years on Saturday. Any of you have a hard time with baby showers?

Do adopted parents get baby showers?

I guess I can always throw myself one….

  1. Wow - you know you’ve made it big when you get your own flavor of ice cream :)

Baby showers - I’ve stopped going to them. I used to go, but now that I’ve been trying for so long, almost all my friends or people my age have babies/children, so that makes me feel even more isolated at them! It’s just too hard and my friends seem to understand at this point.

And, heck yea, adopted parents definetly get showers. I’m expecting a huge shin dig when ours goes through!!

  2. I HATED baby showers - 13 years of everyone of my friends and family…I couldn’t make up THAT many excuses! You just have to resign yourself to be happy for them and don’t think to much about it. You asked if you have showers for adopted babies?? I had 6!

  3. I’ve only been to 3 baby showers in my life (not including my own), and two were general invitation church showers. I was that isolated from people with babies. Or maybe people didn’t invite me and never told me. Hmmm.

I’ve totally heard of adoptive parents having baby showers. It makes perfect sense: you get the baby, you need the baby stuff.

    Petunia… six showers? AWESOME.
